Intergalactic Expression
INTERGALACTIC EXPRESSION plays with
the unconventional colours of space explosions:
by fusing warm shades with cool, the piece is
able to communicate the contradictory nature
of the universe’s constructive as well as destru-
ctive forces. The use of oil and alcohol reinforces
this paradox and contributes to the rough, tex-
tured edges of paint. Simultaneously, the juxta-
position between the colours and the white
space establishes a sense of incompleteness
that leads the viewer into working towards “fill-
ing in the gaps” of their aspirations. This is indi-
cative of how our positive and negative sides
battle between themselves and compel us to
adopt a ‘Growth Mindset.’ It is this progressive
realisation of our worthy ideals that is able to
propel us into colourfully establishing our place
in the universe.

The Layers of Life
THE LAYERS OF LIFE is a unique composition
that highlights the multidimensional personality
of a human being; with its ‘layers’ of acrylic, clay
and glue cohesively coming together to reflect
our various hues and shades that make us who
we are. The yellow colour of the painting is indica-
tive of the positivity that resides in each of us; the
ability to rise above the other shades which may
exist within; much like the shades of mustard, gre-
en and brown which are hidden beneath.

Starburst
STARBURST is the personification of the spread
of colours. Created in an Art therapy session colla-
borating with the girls from Om Creations, a non-
profit organisation working to improve mental he-
alth, this piece aims to encourage passion into eve-
ry aspect of life. It was exhibited at SaffronArt Galle-
ry in Mumbai as part of the show, 'Documenta XIV.'

Dusk to Dawn
DUSK TO DAWN depicts the flow of life from Sunrise to Sunset: the rays of sunshine bring hope as the day starts, and take the shape of brightness to bring us to the end of the day with dusk. The ebbing of the sun to give way to the cool serenity of the evening is a personification of life as we move from health and vigour to waning of energy to restfulness and ease. As I created this, I interwove the physical as well as metaphysical meanings of the sun rising from the core of the Earth and setting with the moon high in the sky lending its power to the world. This was created as an improvised piece for Harvard-Berklee singer Avanti Nagral's music video. It was exhibited at SaffronArt Gallery in 2019 as part of the show, 'Documenta XIII.'

The Canvas of Life
THE CANVAS OF LIFE: I dream in deep metaphors and visual puns, then weave them into stories that speak to every level of my consciousness. We artists speak with words and without; we artists are nature's soul-restoration crew. The canvas of our life has enough space for everyone to paint their own story, their own lives in the plain whites where it started from. Some paint out and off the canvas onto the walls if they dare and others paint in a smaller area than provided. I see the world for how it is supposed to be seen; with an open heart, mind, body, soul. I judge none and nothing. Let's paint the hues of positivity and happiness on the canvas of life; lending ourselves to others where we can, creating a painting that is abundant in every way.

Connections
CONNECTIONS aims to highlight how people across
geographies, communities and cultures are in so-
me way or the other connected with each other.
The links in black are free-form drawings that sym-
bolise human error, human flaws and the way hum-
ans are imperfect beings, seeking meaningful con-
nections. The grey watercolour of the background
is indicative of the fact that life isn’t just black and
white: it is a spectrum of decisions and emotions
that lend themselves to subjective thought. Despite
this, the finality of the black colour shows how we
transcend these differences, reaching out and mak- ing those connections in little or more ways. The
beauty of these connections makes us who we are, woven together in the fabric of life.
